Setup & Administration
Rates are setup within a hierarchical structure. Each level within the structure can be made active or in-active, which will quickly affect which Rates are applied to actual values.
Note: Rates can only be setup by a MiiNT Administrator.
Rate Hierarchy
- Rate Categories: Periods associated with the rates category are defined at the top level of the rates hierarchy. User access is granted at this level.
- Rate Groups: This is the second level of the rates hierarchy which allows grouping of related Rates within a single Rate Category.
- Rate Types: The third level of the hierarchy is used to define the rate type and the source of the actual data. This is in the following parts;
- The table from where the actual-data is drawn.
- The query including its filters that retrieve and outputs that summarise the actual-data.
- The query named filters that become the parameters for the rate definitions.
- Rate Definitions: The lowest level of the hierarchy where the date effective, optional thresholds, rate periods and default filter values and monetary rates are set.
Rate Information Access
Access to rate information is controlled totally by user group security.
To be able to create rate information reports the user group the user is assigned to will need to have the Rates Management security setting turned on to expose the Rates Management tables in Query Builder.
Note: This includes the 'admin' user group.
To be able to view rate information reports in the MiiNT web interface the user group the user is assigned to will need to be granted access to the Rates Management menu used to display any rate management reports.
Note: The This includes the 'admin' user group.
